—A note from Greg’s’s Coach, Andrew:
Greg joined us here at LSF only 6 months ago with the goals of trying to improve his overall health, stay injury free and build strength in order to keep up with his 10 year old son and to help manage his busy lifestyle.
Greg’s goals are the perfect definition of ‘lifestyle goals’ – an ever evolving level of fitness he’s alway progressing towards. But so far he’s doing amazing – his strength is at an all time high, he is feeling good and he is well on his way to hit (and surpass) all his goals in the very near future.
This is a testament to Greg’s work ethic and dedication to living a healthy life. Greg always shows up to the gym with a positive attitude and gives it his absolute best effort. He leads by example when it comes to balancing health and fitness with running a business and having a busy family life.
It has been absolute pleasure to have Greg as part of our LSF family and we are so excited to see what he will accomplish in the future!
What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program?
I felt like it was the next step for me. I’ve been health focused for the last 10 years, but in the last 5 I’ve really stepped it up. Last year I felt I plateaued, LS Fitness was exactly what I needed to refocus and see the results that I’ve been looking for.
What was your life like prior to starting at Lean Strong Fitness?
Before starting LS Fitness I was working out in my basement and enjoyed running, as well as hockey and lacrosse. I’ve always been a fairly active guy.
What were your most important goals when you started? Why were these important to you?
My goals were to become stronger and more educated in physical fitness. Keeping my strength as I age is important to me so that I can continue to enjoy a full, physical and health centered lifestyle.
I want to be able to keep up with my 10 year old son when he’s 25!
Describe any reservations that you had before we started working together? Why did you have these reservations?
I had some doubt whether or not I was going to get my moneys worth. I’m also a very private person, which also took some courage to overcome.
It was my first time with a personal trainer as well as working out with a group of people.
Explain how we were able to help you with your reservations. What were some specifics we were able to help you with?
It only took about 6 weeks for me to completely overcome all of my reservations.
I was comfortable with my trainer Andrew, and I was also getting used to working out with other people. More importantly I was feeling and seeing results!
I was feeling stronger, staying injury free, and feeling great about my decision of joining LS Fitness!
What results have you achieved since starting your program? What are your proudest accomplishments so far?
Joining has helped me refocus on my nutrition and calorie intake, and I understand how to lift and strength train and how proper form is important.
I’ve also learned about the importance of sleep, and recovery days, and what an important role they play in getting to the next level and achieving my goals.
My proudest moments are when I know a routine well enough to be able to add reps or weights without losing form – I’ve been able to lift more weight then I’ve ever lifted before!
How is your life better now that you have achieved these results? Is there anything you can do now that you didn’t do or were hesitant to do before?
I feel a lot stronger and way more aware of my body then I was before joining LS Fitness.
I know how to lift properly, stretch properly, the importance of nutrition when it comes to adding muscle mass as well as life balance. I’ve found a good balance between work life and staying healthy.
One of my biggest achievements has been keeping up with my 10 year old son. We play all kinds of sports together, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer and swimming.
To be able to keep up with him and enjoy life, injury free, has been my biggest achievement.
What do you want to accomplish next?
I feel like a marathon or an ironman race of some kind might be in my future.
What do you like best about our program and how would you tell your friends about us and what we do?
I like the knowledge of the trainers and the way they’ve helped me adapt the program to my life.
The space is AMAZING! The gym has a great feel to it.
I’m getting and continue to get the results that I want with the help from Andrew and the other trainers at LS Fitness.
